Reading Challenge Book List

Diana Beebe, Mermaids Don't Do Windows, MDDW, Diana Beebe's Blog, science fiction, fantasyIn my last post, I announced that I’m going to read 52 books this year. Seems like a paltry goal compared to some of you. I’ll do my best!

One of the commenters asked what books are on my list. Even though I have them all on a spreadsheet, putting them here makes me more accountable somehow. 😉

So, by request, here’s my unfinished book list in alphabetical order by title. My writer group friends suggested that I dump all these since I didn’t finish them, but I can’t. Some I just started reading in December. Others got put down because of distractions that had nothing to do with the quality of the stories. Don’t judge.

  1. Cinder Marissa Meyer
  2. Divinity Michelle L. Johnson
  3. Mirror Mirror Les Edgerton
  4. Poison Bridget Zinn
  5. The House of Hades Rick Riordan
  6. The Immortal Rules Julie Kagawa
  7. The Missing: Found Margaret Peterson Haddix

These are most of the books that I own (paper or electronic):

  1. The 5th Wave Rick Yancey
  2. The Bar Code Prophecy Suzanne Weyn
  3. Becoming Debra Kristi
  4. The Birthgrave Tanith Lee
  5. Blindsight Kait Nolan
  6. Born AE Watson
  7. Cheating Death Jen Naumann
  8. Dream Walker Angela Wallace
  9. Finding Flame Melinda VanLone
  10. Fire Kristin Cashore
  11. Forgive My Fins Tera Lynn Childs
  12. Gateway, Part One Liza Caruthers
  13. The Graveyard Book Neil Gaiman
  14. Hanna, Hanna, one-and-two Myndi Shafer
  15. Hounded Kevin Hearne
  16. The Immortal Crown Richelle Mead
  17. Kissing Her Scrouge Kinley Baker
  18. The Last Enemy Pauline Baird Jones
  19. The Martian Andy Weir
  20. Michael Vey 2: Rise of the Elgen Richard Paul Evans
  21. The Murder Complex Lindsay Cummings
  22. Open Source Anna L. Davis
  23. Rampant Diana Peterfreund

  25. The Scar China Mieville
  26. The School for Good and Evil Soman Chainani
  27. Send Patty Blount
  28. Snow Like Ashes Sara Raasch
  29. The Spy Bride Bayard and Holmes
  30. The Temple of Ardyn Tameri Etherton
  31. Trackers Patrick Carman
  32. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer Michelle Hodkin
  33. The Unnamed Jennifer L. Oliver
  34. The Waiting Booth Brinda Berry
  35. Walls Within Walls Maureen Sherry

Here are a few that have been recommended recently, but I don’t own yet:

  1. The Eye of the World Robert Jordan
  2. Dragon Actually G. A. Aiken
  3. Interitas: Volume 1: The Beginning of Sorrows Rick Garman
  4. Ordinary Grace William Kent Kreuger
  5. The Thirteenth Tale Diane Setterfield

That’s 47 out of 52 slots. I’m sure if I organize my bookshelves better, I’ll find a few more that I haven’t read yet. Even as I write this, I’m remembering a few that I acquired at RWA Nationals 2014. *hangs head* Now I need to update my list on Goodreads.

What other fiction books should I add?

Have you followed my blog yet? (Eventually, I’ll send out a newsletter, too.) I’ll never share your email address!
